Is One Piece OP-17 The World's Strongest Warriors worth opening?
A One Piece OP-17 booster box is about $334 in mid-September 2026. Modelled card value averages about $125, or about $62 across boxes with no case hit.
Verdict
On average a box returns well under what it costs. As of mid-September 2026 The World's Strongest Warriors Booster Box, from the newest English main set of the One Piece Card Game, sells for about $334 on TCGplayer. The site's "all tiers" expected value (EV), the long-run average over many boxes, is about $125. About 50 percent of that average comes from case hits, rare printings that most boxes in a 12-box case do not contain, so the "no case hit" EV, the average of the boxes without one, is about $62, and a single box is often lower still. Every pull rate behind these figures is a community estimate, and the model leaves out the set's most valuable card.
What OP-17 is
The World's Strongest Warriors (OP-17) went on sale in English on August 28, 2026, about a week after the Japanese release on August 22. An English box holds 24 packs of 12 cards as sold by retailers, and a case is 12 boxes. Japanese boxes are a different product.
TCGplayer lists 179 cards on the OP-17 set page, 177 of them priced. Base printings account for 119: 45 commons, 30 uncommons, 26 Rares, 10 Super Rares, 2 Secret Rares and 6 leaders, the cards decks are built around. The other 60 are special printings:
- 25 Alternate Arts (also called parallels), 6 of them leaders: the same card number, rules text and stats with new artwork.
- 3 Super Alternate Arts, a rarer tier above Alternate Art.
- 11 SP cards: special-treatment versions, usually of cards from other sets, keeping their original numbers.
- 4 manga rares, with artwork from manga panels.
- 1 Treasure Rare, a rare special printing: one card in each recent English main set.
- 10 DON!! cards, the game's resource cards, 3 of them gold.
- 6 Pandaman Art cards.

The four manga rares follow, from Shanks (022) (Manga) at about $1,500 to Charlotte Linlin (112) (Manga) at about $825. The top SP card, Monkey.D.Luffy (ST31-004) (SP), is about $815.
All 14 cards at $100 or more are Super Alternate Art, manga rare or SP printings. The top Alternate Art that is not a leader is about $65, and the 10 base Super Rares average about $2.10.

EV is the value of the cards inside at today’s TCGplayer market prices, using community-estimated pull rates (Bandai publishes none). “All tiers” is the long-run average over many boxes; “no case hit” is the average of boxes without an SP, manga rare, Treasure Rare or gold DON!! card, which most boxes are. A single box is often lower. Bulk is in neither figure. Updated daily.
The booster box case, about $4,010 for 12 boxes, and the Double Pack Set Vol. 12 Display, about $374, have no pack count in the site's data and show a market price with no EV.
Bandai's OP-13 page gives $4.99 per pack, and the site uses that figure for OP-17. Bandai publishes no box MSRP; a retailer box of 24 packs at $4.99 comes to $119.76.
Box EV: two figures and a range
EV is what a product's cards would fetch on average at current TCGplayer market prices. For the box:
- All tiers: about $125, about 37 cents per dollar of box price. This is the long-run average over many boxes.
- No case hit: about $62, about 19 cents per dollar. This is the average of boxes with no SP card, manga rare, Treasure Rare or gold DON!! card, which is most boxes. A single box is often lower still: on the estimates below, about half have no Secret Rare.
- Range: about $82 to about $163 on all tiers, from the low and high ends of the rate estimates.
Case hits, which most boxes do not contain, lift the average: they are about 50 percent of it. Per box, SP cards add about $34, manga rares about $24, the Treasure Rare about $3.80 and gold DON!! cards about $1.10. The rest is mostly Alternate Arts (about $24, plus about $10 for leaders), Super Rares (about $15) and Secret Rares (about $11).
The model leaves out Super Alternate Art cards (leaders included), gold, silver and wanted-poster SP variants, special-foil and alternate-art DON!! cards and anniversary cards, because no English pull rate exists for them. That includes the set's most valuable card, so the true average is somewhat higher than shown. Commons, uncommons, base leaders and Rares are in no total, because bulk is hard to sell.
This is information, not financial advice. Opening sealed product is a gamble with a skewed payout, and buying singles is the cheaper way to get a specific card.
Pull-rate estimates and their confidence
Bandai publishes no pull rates. Every rate here is a community estimate from box and case openings of English boxes, and the site grades each for confidence.
| Printing | Estimated rate |
|---|---|
| Manga rarecase hit4 cards share this rate · low confidence: About 1 per 4 cases for the whole tier; sources range from 1 per 2 cases to 1 per 6. No counted sample exists: both itemised English cases had none. | 1 in 48 boxes1 in 71 boxes to 1 in 24 boxes |
| SP cardcase hit11 cards share this rate · medium confidence: About 2 per case from OP-06 on, stated by four guides with no sample. An average, not a guarantee: one counted OP-16 case had 5. Whether every SP in a set is equally likely is not documented, so the median SP price is used; gold, silver and wanted-poster SP variants are much rarer and are not counted. | 1 in 6 boxes1 in 12 boxes to 1 in 6 boxes |
| Treasure Rarecase hit1 card shares this rate · low confidence: Up to about 1 per case (three OP-17 cases and one OP-16 case). No lower bound is documented, so the low figure counts none. | 1 in 12 boxesnone counted to 1 in 12 boxes |
| Gold DON!! cardcase hit3 cards share this rate · low confidence: One guide's three OP-17 cases showed about 2 special DON!! cards per case, typically one gold and one it calls platinum (assumed to be TCGplayer's Special Foil), so gold is taken as about 1 per case. Single source. | 1 in 12 boxes1 in 12 boxes to 1 in 6 boxes |
| Alternate Art leader6 cards share this rate · medium confidence: About 4 per case in three independent sources; one counted OP-16 case had 3. About two boxes in three have none. | 1 in 3 boxes1 in 4 boxes to 1 in 3 boxes |
| Alternate Art (not a leader)19 cards share this rate · medium confidence: About 1.67 alternate arts per box including leaders (guides say 2; the structural table says 16 plus 4 leaders per case), less the leader tier. How they split between Rare, Super Rare and Secret Rare alternate arts is not documented, so the median price is used: a rare, expensive Secret Rare alternate art cannot lift it. | 1.3 per box1 per box to 1.7 per box |
| Pandaman Art6 cards share this rate · low confidence: About 6 to 8 per case in one guide's three OP-17 cases. Single source. | 1 in 2 boxes1 in 2 boxes to 1 in 1 boxes |
| Secret Rare2 cards share this rate · low confidence: About 1 in 2 boxes. Counted English openings give 0.33 to 0.5 per box; the structural table says 8 per case (0.67). The often repeated "1 per box" is not supported for recent sets. | 1 in 2 boxes1 in 3 boxes to 1 in 1 boxes |
| Super Rare10 cards share this rate · medium confidence: About 7 per English box in five sources, treated as a box guarantee by the OP-17 case data. Guides quoting 3 to 5 describe Japanese boxes. | 7 per box6 per box to 8 per box |
| Rare (bulk)not in the totals26 cards share this rate · low confidence: At least one Rare per pack is the only sourced figure, so 24 per box. Shown for reference and NOT added to any total: bulk is hard to sell, and no source gives counts for commons, uncommons or base leaders. Each card is capped at $5. | 24 per box |
Estimates for English boxes (24 packs of 12 cards, 12 boxes per case), last reviewed Sep 19, 2026. Bandai publishes no pull rates; a rate is shared by every card of that printing, and per-case figures are averages, not guarantees.

Bandai publishes no odds and no box MSRP).
Medium confidence:
- Super Rare: about 7 per English box in community counts (6 to 8). Guides quoting 3 to 5 describe Japanese boxes.
- Alternate Art, not a leader: about 1.33 per box (1 to 1.67).
- Alternate Art leader: about 0.33 per box (0.25 to 0.33), so about two boxes in three have none.
- SP card: about 2 per case (0.083 to 0.167 per box); one counted OP-16 case had 5.
Low confidence:
- Secret Rare: about 1 in 2 boxes (0.33 to 0.67), not the often repeated one per box.
- Pandaman Art: about 0.58 per box (0.5 to 0.67), single source.
- Treasure Rare: about 1 per case at most (0 to 0.083 per box).
- Gold DON!! card: about 1 per case (0.083 to 0.167 per box), single source.
- Manga rare: about 1 per 4 cases (0.014 to 0.042 per box), with no counted sample.
The largest English sample found is about three OP-17 cases, more than 1,000 packs, from one guide site that does not name the openers. A tier's rate is shared by every card in it, so a named card is harder to pull than its tier.

EV is the expected value of the cards inside at today’s TCGplayer market prices; the ratio divides it by the box’s market price. Bandai publishes no pull rates, so the rates are community estimates: open a box to see each one with its basis and the sources. The rarest printings are seeded by the case and most boxes have none, so “no case hit” is the average of those boxes; a single box is often lower, because about half have no Secret Rare and two in three no alternate-art leader. Bulk rares are in neither figure. Ratios below 1.0 are normal.
As of mid-September 2026 OP-17 is third by all-tiers EV per dollar, at about 0.37 (about 0.19 with no case hit). Adventure on Kami's Island (OP15-EB04) leads at about 0.56 (0.30): a box is about $255, with about $144 on all tiers and about $77 with no case hit. The previous main set, The Time of Battle (OP16), is second at about 0.38 (0.20), with a box at about $231.
OP-17's no-case-hit EV of about $62 is the second highest in dollars, but its ratio is fifth, because the four boxes ahead of it all cost less. No modelled box has an all-tiers EV above its market price.
Bottom line for specific cards
Shanks (022) (Manga) is about $1,500 as a single. On community estimates a manga rare, any of the four, turns up about once in four cases (sources range from one in two cases to one in six), and four cases come to about $16,000. The Super Leader Alternate Art Luffy has no pull-rate estimate, so its odds are not known.

How we got these numbers
Prices are US TCGplayer market prices (an average of recent sales, English, Near Mint) from the daily feed. Pull rates are community estimates for English boxes, last reviewed on September 19, 2026, drawn mainly from the tcgtalk OP-17 case data, one itemised OP-16 case, guides from onepiecepacksimulator and slab-z, and a structural model whose author calls its figures approximations. Not modelled: Super Alternate Art cards, gold, silver and wanted-poster SP variants, special-foil and alternate-art DON!! cards, anniversary cards and bulk. The full method is on the methodology page.
Prices are TCGplayer market values via TCGCSV, refreshed daily; eBay buttons open live search results already filtered below market.
