The catalog lists 119 English cards whose Pokémon is Gastly, Haunter or Gengar: 35 Gastly, 31 Haunter and 53 Gengar cards, with the four Team Up cards of the TAG TEAM Gengar & Mimikyu-GX counted among the Gengars. Prices in this guide are TCGplayer market prices as of October 4, 2026, and 116 of the 119 cards had one. Across those 116, the median card is about $6.10. One of every priced card comes to about $12,748. That total is a floor: the two thin-market prices and the three cards with no market price are not in it.

The three stages sit on separate price scales. Gastly's median is about 95 cents, Haunter's $2.69 and Gengar's $74.14, and Gengar cards make up about 96 percent of the floor total. The dearest card in the list is the TAG TEAM Gengar & Mimikyu-GX #165 from Team Up, a Rare Ultra at $2,063.55 for its Holofoil printing, with its lowest TCGplayer listing at $2,476.26. By itself it is about 16 percent of the floor total, and more than four times the 65 priced Gastly and Haunter cards added together, $479.01.

What the list is

The list follows one rule, printed under the table further down: English cards whose Pokémon is Gastly, Haunter or Gengar (Pokédex #92 to #94), TAG TEAM pairs included, by the Pokédex numbers the card database gives each card. A TAG TEAM card carries one Pokédex number for each Pokémon on it, which is how Gengar & Mimikyu-GX gets in, and cards such as Sabrina's Gengar or Neo Destiny's Dark Haunter carry the same numbers, so they count too. The stage counts here go by the Pokémon each card names.

Each card has one price, the TCGplayer market price its own page shows for a raw, ungraded Near Mint copy, and the site's price rule picks the printing behind it, so this guide names that printing and the lowest TCGplayer listing beside every card in the list that it prices. Graded copies are a separate market, covered in raw vs graded. Japanese printings are not part of the list.

Cards the catalog takes from TCGplayer alone, jumbo cards and prize-pack and World Championship deck printings among them, carry no Pokédex number in the card database, so they fall outside the rule. Of the 7,117 such English cards, 38 have names that mention Gastly, Haunter or Gengar. The dearest of the 38 is Gengar V from the Prize Pack Series Cards, at a market price of $397.37; the data behind this guide holds no printing or listing figure for it, and it is in no count or total here. So this is every English card the catalog lists with one of these three Pokédex numbers, not every Gastly, Haunter or Gengar card ever printed.

The three stages side by side

Thin-market prices count in the table's medians and counts, as in the block's own median, and stay out of its dearest cards and sums.

Dearest card, thin markets left out Gastly #177, $95.79 Haunter #63, $68.42 Gengar & Mimikyu-GX #165, $2,063.55

Set the two thin-market Gengar prices aside and Gengar's median falls from $74.14 to $65.42. Haunter's median is close to three times Gastly's, and Gengar's more than 27 times Haunter's.

The rarity labels follow the stages. Thirty of the 35 Gastly cards are Commons and 25 of the 31 Haunter cards are Uncommons, while no Gengar card is a Common and only two are Uncommons; the other 51 carry 17 different labels. Pokémon card rarities explained covers the Scarlet & Violet and Mega Evolution labels. Sets dated 1999 to 2003 give ten cards to each stage; from 2004 on, Gengar has 43 against 25 Gastly and 21 Haunter, and 18 of those 43 come from eight sets with no Gastly or Haunter in the list, among them Phantom Forces and Team Up with four Gengar cards each and Fusion Strike with three.

The dearest card of each stage

The dearest Gastly is Gastly #177 from Temporal Forces (March 2024), an Illustration Rare credited to Mousho, at $95.79 for its Holofoil printing, lowest listing $86. The odds of an Illustration Rare in a Temporal Forces pack are on the set's pull-rate page. The second-dearest Gastly is Gastly #57 from Skyridge (May 2003), a Common at $43.10 for its Normal printing, lowest listing $42.87.

Like Gastly #57, the dearest Haunter is a Skyridge Common: Haunter #63, $68.42 for its Normal printing. Its lowest listing was $80, above the market price but within 1.5 times it, so it is not a thin market.

Gengar's top card is the TAG TEAM card below. The dearest Gengar that is not a TAG TEAM is Dark Gengar #6 from Neo Destiny (February 2002), a Rare Holo at $1,101.50 for its Unlimited Holofoil printing, lowest listing $538.97. Then come Gengar VMAX #271 from Fusion Strike (November 2021), a Rare Rainbow at $1,024.03 (Holofoil, lowest listing $750), and Mega Gengar ex #284 from Ascended Heroes (January 2026), a Special Illustration Rare at $816.34 (Holofoil, lowest listing $793). The FireRed & LeafGreen Gengar ex has a higher market price than Dark Gengar, but that price is a thin market, explained further down.

Gengar & Mimikyu-GX, the TAG TEAM card

Team Up (February 2019) prints Gengar & Mimikyu-GX four times, and all four are in the list.

Card Rarity Illustrator Printing Market Lowest listing
#53 Rare Holo GX Mitsuhiro Arita Holofoil $391.73 $235.26
#164 Rare Ultra 5ban Graphics Holofoil $396.89 $370.00
#165 Rare Ultra Midori Harada Holofoil $2,063.55 $2,476.26
#186 Rare Rainbow 5ban Graphics Holofoil $546.23 $392.06

The four add up to $3,398.40, about 27 percent of the floor total and more than any other set contributes to the list. #164 and #165 carry the same rarity label, Rare Ultra, and #165 is about five times the price of #164; in the card data they differ by number and by illustrator credit. #165 is the only one of the four whose lowest listing was above its market price, about 1.2 times it. The lowest-priced of the four, #53, is above every priced Gastly and Haunter card in the list.

The ranking in which Pokémon have the most valuable cards counts Gengar & Mimikyu-GX for both Gengar and Mimikyu.

Thin markets and one-listing prices

A thin market is a price with no TCGplayer listing near it (none listed, or the lowest more than 1.5 times the market) or with an open price flag; one old sale can set it. Two cards in the list have one, both Gengars. Gengar ex #108 (FireRed & LeafGreen, September 2004) has a market price of $1,399.99 for its Holofoil printing, but its lowest listing was $3,999.99, so the table leaves it out of the dearest. Gengar LV.X #97 (Arceus, November 2009) has a market price of $628.50 for its Holofoil printing, but its lowest listing was $999.99. Neither is in any sum here.

The thin-market rule does not catch a card whose listings all sit at one price no higher than 1.5 times its market. Two cards in the list, both among its 15 dearest, had their lowest and highest listings at one figure, which may be one listing or several at one price. Gengar #13 from Expedition Base Set (September 2002), a Rare Holo, is $716.67 for its Holofoil printing, with one TCGplayer listing price, $604.20. Gengar #10 from Skyridge, a Rare, is $509.99 for its Normal printing, with one listing price, $224.99. Both count as firm prices in the table and the total, though each single listing price sat below the market figure.

The cheap end, and one-set lines

The cheapest card in the list is Gastly #48 from Perfect Order (March 2026), a Common at $0.09 for its Normal printing, lowest listing $0.01. The cheapest Haunters tie at $0.15: Haunter #56 from Paldean Fates (January 2024) and Haunter #49 from Perfect Order, both Normal printings with lowest listings of $0.01. The cheapest Gengar is Gengar #57 from Paldean Fates, an Uncommon at $0.39 (Normal printing, lowest listing $0.10).

Of the 39 sets the list draws on, 26 carry all three stages. Taking the cheapest priced card of each stage from one set, Paldean Fates gives the lowest-priced line: Gastly #55 at $0.10 (Normal, lowest listing $0.01) with Haunter #56 and Gengar #57 from the paragraph above, $0.64 for the three. The 151 line is $3.09: Gastly #92 and Haunter #93 at $0.27 each (Normal printings, lowest listing $0.01 each) and Gengar #94 at $2.55 (Holofoil, lowest listing $1.25), all three credited to Tomokazu Komiya. Among lines with no thin-market price, Neo Destiny's is the dearest at $1,124.13: Gastly #65 at $3.00 (Unlimited printing, lowest listing $0.90), Dark Haunter #36 at $19.63 (Unlimited, lowest listing $10) and Dark Gengar #6.

The list in the live table

The block below gives the picture, set, year, rarity and market price of each card it shows, marks thin markets, and adds an eBay search for raw copies. It shows the 30 dearest and the 30 cheapest, with the thin-market prices apart, and its totals line covers all 119 cards, with the one-of-each figure a floor for the reason given above. It updates daily.

Showing 62 of 119 cards: the 30 dearest and the 30 cheapest, and the thin-market prices. The totals above count all 119. Every card is listed on the Gastly, Haunter and Gengar pages.

Rule: English cards whose Pokémon is Gastly, Haunter or Gengar (Pokédex #92 to #94), TAG TEAM pairs included, by the Pokédex numbers the card database gives each card.

Market is the TCGplayer market price the card’s own page shows, updated daily. “Thin market” marks a price with no TCGplayer listing near it (none listed, or the lowest more than 1.5 times the market) or with an open price flag: one old sale can set such a number, so it is passed over for the cheapest and the dearest card and left out of the one-of-each total. Beside a dearest card whose lowest and highest TCGplayer listing are the same, the block prints that one listing price. Each eBay button searches raw copies of that card, Buy It Now from US sellers, lowest price first, capped 12% under market where the button names a price.

Some cards come only from TCGplayer's catalog (jumbo cards, prize-pack and World Championship deck printings and the Shadowless Base Set among them). The catalog stores no Pokédex number for them, so they are not in this list.

Every card of each stage is on the Gastly, Haunter and Gengar pages. The block's eBay buttons are affiliate links; where one names a price, its search is capped 12 percent under market on the item price, before shipping, and the methodology page explains when the site calls a landed price below market.

What changes and what stays

Every price in this guide is dated October 4, 2026 and moves with the market: the medians, totals and counts, the dearest and cheapest cards, the shares of Gengar and of the TAG TEAM cards, the one-set lines, and which prices are thin markets or have one listing price. The block above shows the median, the one-of-each total, the cheapest and dearest cards and the price and thin-market mark of each card it shows, updated daily; the stage figures, the shares and the one-set lines are not in it, and it prints a one-listing price only beside its dearest card.

The rest is lasting. The rule and the card list stay as they are until a set prints another Gastly, Haunter or Gengar card, or the card database gives a Pokédex number to cards it stores without one. The four Gengar & Mimikyu-GX cards and the release dates do not move. The rarity labels and illustrator credits change only if the card database corrects or fills one in: three Perfect Order cards in the list have no illustrator credit there, and the McDonald's Collection 2019 Gastly has no rarity label. The printing behind a price can change if a printing gains or loses its market price.

Bottom line

The list is 119 English cards: 35 Gastly, 31 Haunter and 53 Gengar. On October 4, 2026 the stages had medians of about 95 cents, $2.69 and $74.14, and the Gengar stage made up about 96 percent of the one-of-each floor total. One card, the Holofoil Team Up Gengar & Mimikyu-GX #165 at $2,063.55 (lowest listing $2,476.26), was about 16 percent of that total, and the four TAG TEAM cards about 27 percent. A Gastly, a Haunter and a Gengar from one set started at $0.64, in Paldean Fates. TCGplayer-only printings, led by the Prize Pack Gengar V, sit outside the list.
